My name is Jessica Legare. I decided to focus my blog around female artists in the R&B,Hip-hop and rap industry to acknowledge talent and artistry.
The women I’ve chosen are my personal favourites for different reasons that I think you’ll be able to relate to. I write more than just why I enjoy their music or what their accomplishments are.
In my blogs I try to combine the elements of their music that demonstrate their talent, why I enjoy their music, and give some background as to who they are. I believe it’s important to be an informed listener and whenever I hear a new artist now, I always do research about creators.
My goal is to spread more knowledge and positivity toward women of colour in the music industry. For this reason my blog is called “listentoher”, because I think you should.
